Description

This very fine marble representation of a kneeling goat is a tribute to the skills of the artist who carved this figure, some 7000 years ago. Indeed, the stylized figure, with its legs folded beneath it, the neck extending forward, and the eyes drilled and the thin ears is full of realism. The long notched horns and short triangular tail in low relief are rendering with the utmost sensitivity.
