Description

The white marble statuette would have been of above average height (ca. 40 cm) if the figure was whole and standing. The massive, round shapes, as well as the style, refer to the Neolithic female steatopygic statuettes like the Hacilar ones: the bust is thick, the neck is broad and squat. Two curved, modeled lines indicating the forehead and the lower jaw and distinguish the shape of the face from the straight outline of the neck. The eyes are represented by two almond-shaped incisions, the nose and the ears are in low relief.
